Unopened...Unused...

The true story is told of a young man who desperately wanted a new car for graduation. On graduation day his father presented him a beautiful deluxe Morocco leather Bible. The young man flung the gift at his father and left home, never to return while his father, and left home, never to return while his father lived.

After his father's death, he returned to get rid of his father's belongings and came across the Bible which fell open. Out fell a cashier's check and a note which read, "Son, take this check to the car dealer and pick the car of your dreams. Love, Dad."

The gift - the car - was there all the time...unopened...unused...

God gave the greatest gift of all - eternal life! Have you accepted it or have you left it unopened and unused?

Reading the Bible without meditating is like trying to eat without swallowing.

David Sutherland says, "Not opening the Bible is like buying the groceries, but leaving them in your fridge to spoil."
