We are currently in our "40 days of purpose" at Solid Rock. While fasting and prayer are something we do on a consistent basis, these 40 days are a specialized time of focus for the collective body of Christ.
The first ten days (October 1st - 10th) are "upward focus."

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
What has to die for you to see the Lord?
Is there anything that is restricting your view of God?
I doubt it's a literal person, and I hope that no one dies. However, accept the point for what it's worth - the reason we are fasting is to bring our flesh under subjection. In other words, to "crucify our flesh" as the Scriptures state, so that we can see God more clearly.
Remove those things in your life that hinder you from seeing God and surrender yourself to Him completely.
During these first ten days, read His Word with fresh anticipation and hunger. Ask God to lead you to a book in the Bible and read it with renewed passion. Purpose in your heart to see the Lord.
The second ten days (October 11th - 20th)
Isaiah 6:5 (KJV)
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
After you see the Lord in all His beauty, you need to see yourself through His eyes. Isaiah realized that in the presence of the Almighty, he was unclean!
During the next ten days, is there something you need to clean up?
Is there a habit you need to quit?
Is there weights or sins that are easily besetting you from running the race?
Look inwardly and allow the Light of His truth to penetrate your hearts. That Light will also bring healing and hope to you as God does surgery on you.
The third ten days (October 21st - 30th)

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
During the next ten days, look outwardly beyond yourself. You've now seen the Lord and been cleansed by His touch. Now determine who you can touch for Him.
Is their a neighbor, coworker, friend, or relative that needs His love?
What can you do to further the kingdom of God in the earth?
The fourth ten days (October 31st - November 9th)
During the last ten days, it is time to express faith, but not just any faith. You must possess NOW Faith!
Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
During these final ten days of our 40 days of purpose, express faith in ways you've never expressed it before.
By this time, you've seen the Lord, been cleansed as you looked inwardly, and have been blessed as you reached out to others: now it's time to speak "now faith" into your home, finances, etc.
Find all the Scriptures you can about faith and read them over and over.
Together, we will accomplish all that God has for us during these 40 days of purpose!
