The Greatest Man in History!

In chemistry, He turned water to wine.

In biology, He was born without normal conception.

In physics, He disapproved the law of gravity when He ascended into heaven.

In economics, He disapproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5000 men with two fishes & 5 loaves of bread.

In medicine, He cured the sick and the blind without administering a single dose of drugs, In history, He is the beginning and the end.

In government, He said that he shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace.

In religion, He said no one comes to the Father except through him.

So; who is He?

He is Jesus!

The Greatest Man in History, Jesus Christ!

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

He had no army, yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today!

The Holiday's Are Upon Us

Let us not forget Thanksgiving this year. All too often we fly right over this great hoilday and speed right into Christmas. So, set back, enjoy this blog and discover the true meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas

We are approaching the Holiday Season faster than a speeding bullet... before you know it, we will be stuffing more than a turkey -- we'll be stuffing our faces. And then it's off to the races! Wal-Mart will be jam-packed. Aisle upon aisle advertising the latest and best gadget or gizmo to get for that special someone. In all the hustle and bustle, I bring you this story.

The small church in rural Oklahoma was preparing for their Christmas drama. Teddy was a young boy who was mentally challenged, but wanted so bad to be in the play. The director found a place for him: he could be the innkeeper who turned Jesus into the stable. Practice after practice, Teddy gave his lines with gusto and never missed a beat. He would open the door of the inn and proclaim, "There is no room; you can use the stable though."

The night of the Christmas Cantatta finally arrived. Parents, grandparents, neighbors, church members, friends all were there seated in the congregation. Camera's were flashing, and video's were being made of this night. Finally, the moment arrived. "Joseph and Mary" knocked on the innkeeper's door asking for a room. Teddy opened the door and started his lines... then choked up and said, "NO! Wait! Come back. You can have my room!" The crowd realized what had happened and although Teddy had messed up his lines, he had shown the true spirit of Christmas through his words and deeds.

This year as we stuff turkey's, buy gifts, wrap presents, and enjoy the company of family, let's remember to let Jesus have our room. Don't turn Him away.

Discover. Develop. Demonstrate.

The purpose of Solid Rock Worship Center is "to live by faith, be known by love, and be a voice of hope."

Discover:

Introducing the unchurched to a relationship with Jesus Christ through the experience of the Gospel.

You need faith to please God (Hebrews 11:6), thus, as one discover's a right relationship they not express faith in God, but then begin to live by faith.

If you have yet to discover Jesus, read through the book of John. It's the fourth gospel in the New Testament, and John reveals Jesus like no other writer. Come and be our guest at http://www.srwc.net/, we worship every Sunday at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm and every Wednesday at 7:00 pm.

Develop:

Equipping the new believer to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus said that the identifying mark of discipleship is love for one another (John 13:35), so, as one develop's in Christ, they are known by love (1 Corinthians 13).

Study the word of God (2 Timothy 2:15). Apply the word of God (James 1:22). Grow in grace and knowledge of God (2 Peter 3:18).

Demonstrate:

Giving daily disciples opportunity to serve in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ!

We are to called to be a voice of hope to our neighbors (1 Peter 3:15) and in so doing, we demonstrate Christ by our Christian lifestlye.

Think of ways that you can demonstrate hope to someone today. Tell someone about Jesus. Do something special for your neighbor. Reach out to that long lost friend and reunite the relationship. Be a voice of hope! (Romans 12).

Forsake not the Assembling of Yourselves

Hebrews 10:23-25 (NKJV)
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Church has become a very fluid term with the myriad of denominations present today, plus the multiple changes that it has experienced over time. The church is a movement, not a monument. It is deliverance not a denomination. It is the Body and Bride of Christ.

What does church offer you? Well, that depends on your local assembly, and since churches are normally autonomous, differences exist in what is offered through the ministries of each individual assembly.

For Solid Rock Worship Center, the church I'm privileged to pastor, we offer this:

1) Sunday Morning Worship

  • Our Sunday morning focus is "Evangelism." Prayer is directed at souls being influenced by the only saving message of Jesus Christ = the Gospel. The songs are chosen in an effort to help explain the purpose of the Gospel. The preaching or teaching centers around the Gospel. "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ..."

2) Sunday Evening Worship

  • Sunday evening's focus is "Envision." Everything is geared around our purpose and the vision God has for us in our community. The preaching or teaching challenges believers to not only "come" to church, but to "BE" the church = "to live by faith, be known by love and be a voice of hope!" Which is our purpose statement.

3) Wednesday Evening Christian Life Classes

  • The focus of our Wednesday's is "Education." While we do spend time singing, worshipping and giving thanks, the primary purpose is to educate every age demographic in the Word of God. Presently, 6 different groups meet in age-level classes for learning.

Solid Rock Worship Center is "your connecting point" and these three times of weekly worship serve to fulfill two of the three points of connection:

  1. Your connecting point to Christ = Sunday morning
  2. Your connecting point to the Church = Sunday evening & Wednesday evening
  3. Your connecting point to the Community...

Your connecting point to the Community is fulfilled through various small groups that meet periodically throughout the week and all over the community. These offer everything from fellowship to prayer and serve to fulfill Acts 2:42...

  • And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. (NKJV)

Another way to look at what we do at Solid Rock is:

  1. To live by faith = your connecting point to Christ.
  2. Be known by love = your connecting point to the Church.
  3. Be a voice of hope = your connecting point to the Community.

If you don't attend a church regularly and would like more information about Solid Rock, click on www.srwc.net for more contact and other information.

If you are a current believer at Solid Rock, but don't participate in all we have to offer, I ask you, "What are you waiting for?" Don't forsake the assembling of yourselves together. We're stronger together!

Blessings to all...

Psalms 115:14-15 (KJV)
14 The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. 15 Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.
