Hebrews 10:23-25 (NKJV)
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Church has become a very fluid term with the myriad of denominations present today, plus the multiple changes that it has experienced over time. The church is a movement, not a monument. It is deliverance not a denomination. It is the Body and Bride of Christ.
What does church offer you? Well, that depends on your local assembly, and since churches are normally autonomous, differences exist in what is offered through the ministries of each individual assembly.
For Solid Rock Worship Center, the church I'm privileged to pastor, we offer this:
1) Sunday Morning Worship
- Our Sunday morning focus is "Evangelism." Prayer is directed at souls being influenced by the only saving message of Jesus Christ = the Gospel. The songs are chosen in an effort to help explain the purpose of the Gospel. The preaching or teaching centers around the Gospel. "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ..."
2) Sunday Evening Worship
- Sunday evening's focus is "Envision." Everything is geared around our purpose and the vision God has for us in our community. The preaching or teaching challenges believers to not only "come" to church, but to "BE" the church = "to live by faith, be known by love and be a voice of hope!" Which is our purpose statement.
3) Wednesday Evening Christian Life Classes
- The focus of our Wednesday's is "Education." While we do spend time singing, worshipping and giving thanks, the primary purpose is to educate every age demographic in the Word of God. Presently, 6 different groups meet in age-level classes for learning.
Solid Rock Worship Center is "your connecting point" and these three times of weekly worship serve to fulfill two of the three points of connection:
- Your connecting point to Christ = Sunday morning
- Your connecting point to the Church = Sunday evening & Wednesday evening
- Your connecting point to the Community...
Your connecting point to the Community is fulfilled through various small groups that meet periodically throughout the week and all over the community. These offer everything from fellowship to prayer and serve to fulfill Acts 2:42...
- And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. (NKJV)
Another way to look at what we do at Solid Rock is:
- To live by faith = your connecting point to Christ.
- Be known by love = your connecting point to the Church.
- Be a voice of hope = your connecting point to the Community.
If you don't attend a church regularly and would like more information about Solid Rock, click on www.srwc.net for more contact and other information.
If you are a current believer at Solid Rock, but don't participate in all we have to offer, I ask you, "What are you waiting for?" Don't forsake the assembling of yourselves together. We're stronger together!
Blessings to all...
Psalms 115:14-15 (KJV)
14 The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. 15 Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.
