When is a moment strictly that – a moment?
Are some moments intended to become monuments?
When should a moment translate into a movement?
How is it some miss the moment?
Momentum is affected adversely when we do not discern appropriately. Memories of a moment fill our minds and we live in the past. Other times, mankind gets in the way of the moment, and momentum is lost.
Some make ministries out of moments, marketing it to the masses.
Some make methods out of the moment, meandering in the maze of mediocrity.
Mindless mistakes are made by those who oppose movement; for it flows like a river, taking the path of least resistance.
Genesis 1:2 (KJV)
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Some are motivated by the mundane and mediocre, and thus, can’t get past the moment.
Some marvel at the mysteries of the moment, meditating in an attempt to appear moved, but really they are misled.
Some magnify the moment when they should meditate on it, and thus misrepresent its intended mission.
Some try to measure the moment through faulty comparisons, misunderstanding and miscalculating it.
Some masquerade like they know what the moment is all about, but wind up massacring the masterpiece God had in mind to materialize.
Some try to maintain the moment showing their lack of maturity.
Some comprehend the meaning of the moment. They don’t meddle with it, but instead meld with it becoming mighty and methodical as they migrate following the Holy Spirit.
The Church is not a moment.
The Church is not a monument.
The Church is a movement!
It flows.
It grows.
It shows.
It leads.
It feeds.
Some will masticate on what I’ve said, pondering the possibility. Others will have to have a dictionary and a thesaurus handy while reading. However, my point has not been to pontificate with large words. Rather, to show that the Church is fluid.
Yes there are unchanging absolutes! And to think otherwise exposes immaturity in the one thinking that way. This is not a challenge against the absoluteness of God. He is unchanging. It’s hard to imagine an unchanging God in our ever changing globe! But begin living in His love, and you’ll understand it better.
And while there are unchanging qualities associated with the Church, her methods change frequently in an attempt to learn from the moment and flow with the movement.
Some moments are meant to be just that – a moment. They hold the significance of being the starting point for what is to become a movement.
During the movement, other significant moments will take place, but we are wrong to think that we can build a monument to them and stop the movement. The river keeps flowing! We must not become the marshes along the river bank that dry up after the river goes down.
Take a minute to meditate on the moments you’ve experienced. Evaluate your life. Are you moving according to His plan? Ask yourself these questions:
Do I have a museum mentality?
…or…
Do I have a movement mindset?
Exodus 14:15b (ESV)
…Tell the people…to go forward.
Proverbs 4:25-26 (ESV)
Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. [26] Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.

Excellent. The true saving ministering of Jesus is a daily or moment by moment for some. Not just in the party (Celebration) for Jesus.
